a Councilmember Madeline Provenzano, is sponsoring a anti-bicycling bill Int. No. 497
Story Link Here!

Under Int. No. 497 those bicycling anywhere within the city limits without their registration number tag would face stiff civil and criminal penalties including:

UP TO 15 DAYS IMPRISONMENT and
$100 - $300 criminal fine and
$100 - $300 civil fine and
a misdemeanor charge and
confiscation of one's bicycle.

Shh! No mention of denying these tags to anyone with a DUI arrest .
At least not yet!
Shh!

This has got to one of the most ridiculous laws I've ever seen submitted. 15 days in jail for riding a bicycle.

What a joke!
